Rock Recap: Welcome To Rockville 2018

For the 8th straight year, Welcome To Rockville returned this past weekend to Jacksonville, FL. The annual event held at Metropolitan park expanded this year to a 3 day festival, chock full of some of the biggest names in rock and metal. All together, the multi-day headbanging celebration drew close to an estimate 100k fans to see 54 bands on 3 stages.

Park construction forced a happy audible in moving the main Monster Energy stage to the parking lot of Everbank Field, which allowed for excellent sight lines regardless of where your position was in the area. Headlining bands included Ozzy Osbourne, kicking off his solo “No More Tours Tour2” campaign, Avenged Sevenfold, and arguably the biggest band in music today, Foo Fighters. Each day included a wide array of bands that could easily be concert headliners of their own, such as: Godsmack, Queens of the Stone Age, Stone Sour, Halestorm, and Five Finger Death Punch, among others.

As in years past, Rockville also included an excellent mix of younger up and coming bands like Greta Van Fleet and Them Evils to older established acts like Billy Idol and the return of Stone Temple Pilots with new singer, Jeff Gutt.

We spoke with members of Them Evils and discussed topics such as the band origin, influences, touring experiences, and future plans. For our full interview with the band, check out this link.

Our full VLOG review of this year’s event and our rumination about what could possibly top this year can be found here.
