We Braved The Heat For Vans Warped Tour Orlando At Tinker Field
Vans Warped Tour stopped in Orlando on Sunday, July 5th to celebrate their 20th year as the longest running music festival in North America. As always, the Warped Tour featured many up and coming bands across multiple genres, geared towards today’s youth. This year’s version of Warped Tour offers 9 stages with over 75 bands, as well as a comedy tent.
On the way into Warped Tour at Tinker Field, we ran into tour founder Kevin Lyman. Living up to his legend, Kevin was outside of the venue, directing fans himself into the event and ensuring that everything was running smoothly.
Upon entering the event, we were greeted with what seemed like one large musical flea market meets open aired circus. Tents line each walkway so that multiple rows are created with alternating stages and vendors. Each band has their own tent which sells their merchandise and offers fans the ability for signings through the day. We met Beartooth singer, Caleb Shomo at their tent and he was happy to talk shop and take pictures with as many fans that approached him.
The music is still the main event of Warped Tour and there is virtually something for everyone to enjoy. Some of the highlights of our experience included catching sets from Beartooth, MC LARS, and Koo Koo Kangaroo.
Of note, Warped Tour is free for parents of children to the age of 18 (one free adult ticket per each child/teen ticket purchased) and a cooled tent is provided for “shelter” for parents. Filtered water is also provided free of charge to anyone that has an empty container, which helps keep costs down.
U.S. Warped Tour 2015 dates continue through August 8th, 2015.
