Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar Review

After a long day of adventuring, we stopped off at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar for a quick bite and some refreshments. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is a newly opened, Indiana Jones themed bar/quick bite restaurant located at the also newly rebranded Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) in Orlando, FL. Since the concept was initially announced earlier this year, the VFTCS crew had been anxiously awaiting the location to open.

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is loaded with eye candy, including artifacts from Indiana Jones lore, such as the Aztec Golden Idol of Fertility and the Headpiece to the Staff of Ra. Of course, these items belong in a museum, but they were too cool and needed to be on display for the masses to enjoy! The story of the bar is tied together between banter from your servers and newspaper clippings along the walls. For those uninitiated folks, Jock Lindsey was a freelance pilot and friend and fellow adventurer of Indiana Jones. During their friendship, Jock opened the Hangar Bar and after sitting untouched for years, Disney Springs folks re-opened the joint “as is” for everyone to enjoy.

Jock Lindsey’s menu is not extensive and is limited to appetizers and finger foods. We tried the Tanis Tacos, Rolling Boulders Sliders and the Air Pirate’s Pretzels. All were delicious. As for drinks, we tried the German Mechanic beer (shandy), the Antidote (non-alcoholic), and the Shorty’s Singapore Sling and enjoyed them all. Of note, at the time of this writing, no collectable glassware (a feature of the bar) was available as they were “lost in the Bermuda triangle”. For those hoping for a cool souvenir of your visit, you may want to hold off until the glassware is available to take home, including the much desired monkey head.

Overall, we had a great experience at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. The servers were especially nice and the food and drinks went along well with the theming of the location.
