MegaCon 2015 Recap

Orlando’s premier comic, anime, horror, sci-fi, geek/nerd event returned to the Orange County Convention Center April 10-12th 2015 with an amazing array of talent, vendors, cosplay and excited attendees. Headlining the celebrity list this year was Norman Reedus and Stan Lee. Both megastars had lines that went on for hours for an opportunity to meet them for an autograph or a portrait quality picture. While we completed our 3+ hour quest to meet Norman, we settled for catching Stan Lee’s amusing panel on Sunday, which included guest spot highlights from Lou Ferrigno and Michael Rooker.

As always, the highlight of MegaCon remains the fans themselves (over 60,000 of them!) as they demonstrate their love for geek culture. Cosplay was heavily present, with some amazing costumed folks walking the floor and taking place in the annual costume contest.

Of note, MegaCon returned to a larger sized hall this year, which was applauded by many in attendance, after capacity drove issues with 2014’s iteration. Next year’s MegaCon looks to be even bigger and better after ownership has changed hands and dates have been moved to a 4 day weekend in May (5/26-5/29/16).
